#Together: Because the Risen Christ Still Forms a People
#Together: Because the Risen Christ Still Forms a People
Easter proclaims glorious news: Jesus is risen. But after all the pomp, the lilies, and the alleluias, the question arises, So what?
Our new sermon series, #Together, is our way of living into that question.
If Christ is risen, then faith is not merely just a single belief or a spring holiday. The risen Jesus is still at work in the world, still calling and forming people who live out presence together. Resurrection is not only a festival; it’s a way of life.
So, I will begin a new Easter season series, #Together by turning back to Mark 10:13–16, where Jesus welcomed children and rebuked his followers who would keep them away. Then, with Colossians 2:6–7, we hear the call to continue in Christ, rooted and built up in him. Together, these scriptures remind us that discipleship is lifelong. No one is too young, too odd, or too late to grow in faith. In the risen Christ, every generation is invited to keep growing.
Across the weeks that follow, #Together will explore worship, mission, leadership, and witness as shared practices of resurrection
life. Because Jesus is alive, the church is not a set of ministry silos or isolated spectators. We are a people being formed, shaped, sent, led, and shown to the world. I can’t help but wonder what new perspectives we will gain.
Jesus is risen. So what? So, we grow, serve, worship, lead, and witness—together.
So, come worship, be informed and inspired, in the life of Christ. Come discover that faith is not something we carry alone, but something God creates among us. Join us for #Together as we seek to become a church where every generation is welcomed, every person is invited to grow, and the risen Jesus is made visible in our life with one another.
Let’s keep dreamin’ God’s dreams,
Pastor Terry
