Dr. Tener Retires: A Note of Gratitude from Greg

The Reverend Dr. Greg Tener is retiring after seven years as senior pastor of Bartlesville First United Methodist Church. Before he leaves, he shares these thoughts with the congregation.
In June of 1993, I stepped into the pulpits of Wilson and Loco United Methodist Churches to preach my very first sermon as a Student Local Pastor. Now, thirty-two years later, I find myself filled with gratitude—for the congregations I’ve had the privilege to serve, and for the friendships and relationships formed along the way.
When I offer thanks to the congregation at Bartlesville, you represent all the churches where Judy and I have been appointed over the years. Great things are happening here, and I believe this is the right time to retire. The future of Bartlesville First United is bright, and I will continue to hold you and your ministry in my prayers.
