Dr. Terry Koehn: Make Way for Wonder!

As the holidays (“holy days”!) approach, many of us feel the pressure to prepare—shop, decorate, plan, and keep pace with all the festivities that demand our attention.

But what if this Advent season isn't really about our preparations?

Our new series, "Make Way," invites us to ponder the greater work unfolding beyond our efforts.

Throughout Advent, rather than focus solely on your to-do lists and efforts, I can’t help but wonder what can happen if we pause and reflect on the divine promise that God is at work.

We are called to make way because of the promise that God is bringing transformation in ways we might not expect. Here's a deeply reassuring message: even amidst life's chaos and our ceaseless activity, God is quietly orchestrating a narrative of renewal.

While traditional symbols of the season prompt us to prepare physically, "Make Way" shifts our attention to the spiritual assurance that God’s presence is weaving through every aspect of this bustling time. Each week, we delve into themes of peace, love, joy, and hope, not as products of our labor but as gifts unfolding through divine grace.

We are providing resources to help you “Make Way”:

  • Sunday morning fellowship time activities
  • music and messages which echo God's promise to be with us in every moment

This Advent, let's make way in our hearts to recognize and welcome God’s wondrous work God in us and through us. Regardless of how prepared we feel, God's loving presence and purpose are steadfastly creating something beautiful throughout this sacred season.

Let’s keep dreaming God’s dreams for all the earth,
Pastor Terry
