Kids First Update: June 2025

Exciting Happenings at Kids First Childcare Center!  

We had an EGG-cellent time at our Easter Egg Hunt—1,850 eggs were scattered for the kids to find, averaging over 30 eggs per child! Huge thanks to our amazing families for donating eggs and candy to make it all possible.  

Our Muffins with Moms event was a sweet success! Ms. Lisa whipped up four kinds of mini muffins, and moms could choose between a Grab-and-Go option or a sit-down breakfast with their child. 

Teacher Appreciation Week was filled with love! Families treated our teachers to delicious breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and even a fridge stocked with their favorite sodas. Our staff felt the love all week long!  

We’re making big strides toward our STARS review by refreshing classrooms with new materials and interest areas—like dramatic play, art, literacy, music, and more!  

Big news: the Jungle Room opened April 28! We’ve started transitions and welcomed new infants, including nine siblings of current students. With this expansion, we’re opening up spots across several age groups.  

We now have six Master Teachers! Shoutout to Mrs. Savita and Ms. Madelyn for advancing from Level 1 to Level 8 on the Professional Development Ladder—amazing!  We rolled out our first performance bonuses this quarter! Teachers have embraced changes with professionalism and grace as we ensure compliance with DHS standards. Quarterly evaluations are underway and going strong.  

Our waitlist keeps growing—38 children and counting, not including two more starting soon. We currently have 62 full-time children and 15 school-age kids attending during breaks, for a total of 79 children enrolled at Kids First!
